Introducing twintrview.com

Hello, and welcome to the brand new Twintrview.com. My name is Tim Stiffler-Dean, and I'll be the one running this joint for some time to come. Here are a few things to keep in mind while you are visiting this website now, and in the future.

Some Terms to Remember

While you're wondering around this site you'll want to remember a few terms so that you don't get too confused. It's all really pretty simple, but just in case.
  • Twintrview: The question and answer (interview) session that happens via Twitter and then broadcast through several channels to get to you, the reader.
  • Twintrviewer: The person that is asking the questions and hosting the event.
  • Twintrviewee: The representative of a company or a person that is answering the questions from the Twinterviewer and the community.
  • Moderator: The person working with the Twintrview team to manage the live chat rooms that come with every Twintrview.
  • Sponsor: The person or company that has paid for an ad placement in a Twintrview. They are mentioned during the twintrview and have a banner posted in the transcript on this website afterward.
  • CoverItLive: The software that we use to bring all of our community discussions and twitter feeds to one place on this website for easy access.

The Blog is for Community

You will notice fairly quickly that the blog is not just for the latest news about this site. That would get pretty dull after a while and the few updates that did come (and infrequently) wouldn't be much more than announcing a new paid sponsor that's been added to the list or maybe releasing a new feature to the regular users here. But it wouldn't just be boring for you to read, it would be boring for me to write. So it's just not going to happen that way.

Instead, this blog is going to be for re-connecting with the people from the past that we have already twintrviewed and sharing with our community some of the things that they have been up to. Whether it is the release of a new product, or some major program that they have been invited to join, or anything else that is really cool for them.

Honestly, the whole purpose of this site is to connect different communities to each other through question and answer sessions, so why should we stop that when the twintrview is over? The blog is for extending our relationship with them even more.

The Archives are for Browsing

After we finish each live twintrview and transcribe them into blog posts, we don't like to trash the article where we had the live chat room. Instead, we take them off of the home page and wrap them up in a warm blanket to sleep soundly in our archives for as long as needed (indefinitely).

You can browse these archives at any time, but keep in mind that the chat rooms will no longer be open and we can't promise that they'll even be available for viewing anymore (CoverItLive may decide to throw them out). But you can at least see where the original foothold was for each twnitrviewee as they passed through here.

The People are for Contacting

Everyone here at twintrview.com is available for contacting via email at any time. If you have any questions about past or upcoming events or twintrviewees, sponsorship plans, or are interested in being twintrviewed yourself, you can use our contact page and we'll get back to you as soon as possible. If you ever need to contact one of the people that we twintrviewed, just ask us for an introduction and we'll get in touch with them to make sure it's alright.

Basically, we like talking to people and don't want you to be afraid of contacting us. If you ever need to talk over an instant messenger or even over the phone, use our contact page to setup the initial chat and we'll go from there.

Let's get this party started

With the launch of this site we're going to be doing another twintrview. Join me with Pamela O'Hara, the CEO of BatchBlue (creator of the BatchBook software) as I ask her questions about her company, contact management and web tech. If you have any questions yourself, be sure to ask in our live chat room.
